This site is dedicated to activities & games, as well as other resources and links designed to aide instruction, learning and acquisition of the 4 skills of English by non-native speakers. It is primarily for teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL); English as a Second Language (ESL), and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). As I am am based in Korea, it is my hope that those who identify as EFL teachers will find it particularly helpful. In time there will also be interactive quizzes, activities, and games for young learner, teen, and adult English learners and acquirers.

If you came to the Pearson-Longman Amazing Minds event Saturday June 14th in Seoul, and attended my workshop, thank you very much for your interest, and for your generous reaction. Please be patient with my new site though. It will be have more on it as the next week goes by. It is brand new. At the moment the clicakble links are empty, that will change very quickly and is happening as you read this.
For now there's some fun news with the EBS documentary project I'm working on below and you can view the whole first episode.
My PPT from the Pearson-Longman Amazing Minds event is available from the downloads section you can post any questions or comments you might have in the forum section.
EBS English Channel Uoong-do Island Documetary Series
Posted by jollyprofessor - Sunday 15 June 2008 - 05:40:57
섬마을 아이들, 영어를 만나다! Uoongdo Island 'YL' English Project Hanseo University's Gifted Education Institute trains 1st time teacher for a daunting mission teaching at a 6 kid school on a tiny island. It's a bit reality TV for some folks liking but the curriculum is fun, and sincere YL teachers will see things they know, and might pick up some ideas too. Goes to air every Monday for 26 weeks, starting May 20th 2008; 9.50am and 10.30pm on EBS English Channel (not reg. EBS).
Here's the link to the EBS English Channel site page. http://www.ebsenglish.co.kr/ To see the first episode, first click on 이반 (general) in the box at the top of the home page...
Then, click here to watch the video. If you don't speak Korean watch it with a friend, but there's enough English teaching in there for you to get something out of it if you're a "YL" teacher. Watch for a couple of cameos at the curriculum planning meetings from me playing soccer wih the kids; and I am also a contributor to the curriculum being taught with the kids, obviously.

Please be patient with my new site though. It will be have more on it as the next week goes by. It is brand new. At the moment the clicakble links are empty, that will change very quickly and is happening as you read this.
For now, if you are looking for the PPT document from Saturday's workshop, you can find it in the downloads section.
Alternatively, if you do not wish to download but still would like to see it, you can view the interactive document online here. (if you can't view it you most certainly can download it.)
You probably won't be able to see the videos play in the PPT in your computer, and there are 3 in my PPT. I will post them separately asap in the downloads section.
So please come back midweek if you're keen on seeing more of what I talked about in video-action.
Thank you very much again for attending, and also huge thanks to the staff and crew of writers at Pearson Longman for such a cool event. Rilla, Jan, Jason, Jake, Yannick, Dean especially. It was great fun!
